Conservatives Call on Immigration Minister to Keep Dieudonne M’bala M’bala Out of Canada

Conservative Party of Canada | May 9, 2016

OTTAWA – Today, Michelle Rempel, Official Opposition critic for Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, called upon the Liberal government to deny comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala entry into Canada.

"His messages go completely against the Canadian values of religious freedom, tolerance and pluralism," said Rempel. "Conservatives have always stood up against hate speech and those who condone it."

Dieudonne M’bala M’bala received a two-month suspended sentence by a Belgian court for a crime of incitement and hatred in March 2015 after he posted comments sympathizing with terrorists as well as trivializing the Holocaust in one of his shows. Now he wants to come to Canada to deliver his “comedy” routine.

In February 2014, the United Kingdom banned him from entering the country to perform.

"We hope that the Minister takes strong and immediate action to show Canadians that anti-Semitism has no place in Canada", said Rempel.
