Rona Ambrose, the Leader of the Official Opposition, issues statement on the 69th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence

Rona Ambrose, Interim Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition, issued the following statement today to mark the 69th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence:

“Today is the 69th Anniversary of Pakistan`s Independence. Celebrations will be held throughout the world, in which Pakistanis will participate in a number of parades, ceremonies, and other celebratory events.

“Pakistan and Canada share an important relationship, and Canada is home to a large and vibrant Pakistani community.

“Today is an opportunity for all Canadians to recognize the immense contributions of Pakistani-Canadians from all walks of life.

“On behalf of the Official Opposition and the Conservative Party, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Pakistan Independence Day.

“Happy Independence Day!”
