Andrew Scheer to visit Chicoutimi—Le Fjord

Conservative Party of Canada | June 6, 2018

Ottawa, ON – The Honourable Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of Canada’s Conservatives, will be in the riding of Chicoutimi—Le Fjord on June 14, in advance of the by-election on June 18, to support Conservative candidate Richard Martel.

“We are very fortunate to have an exceptional candidate like Richard Martel, and I’m looking forward to being in the region campaigning with him. I will have the privilege of attending the start of the Défi Pierre Lavoie and visiting farmers and supporters,” said the Conservative Leader.

Well known in the region, the former Saguenéens’ coach was officially appointed as a candidate on December 20. He has received the support of the former Leader of the Bloc Québécois Michel Gauthier.

“The Liberals delayed the by-election. For the last six months Richard has been on the ground and he has heard the same thing everywhere he goes, the people of Chicoutimi—Le Fjord are fed up with Justin Trudeau, who lives in his own Care Bear world. The people of the region need a strong voice and Richard Martel is the person to represent them in Ottawa,” concluded Mr. Scheer.
