Conservative Party opens nomination in Burnaby South

Conservative Party of Canada | September 8, 2018

Canada’s Conservatives opened the nomination in Burnaby South this week in preparation of an eventual by-election call. This marks the fourth by-election seat to have its nomination opened out of the five that are anticipated.

“We’re looking forward to adding yet another strong candidate to our team as part of these next by-elections,” said Scott Lamb, President of the Conservative Party of Canada. “Our Leader Andrew Scheer has a positive vision for Canada where people are put before government, and it’s one that will benefit not just Burnaby South, but the entire country. In this by-election, we’ll put forward a candidate that represents this vision.”

Those interested in applying for the nomination have until September 18, 2018 at 5PM ET to submit a completed nomination package to Conservative Party headquarters.

Residents of Burnaby South wanting to vote in a Conservative nomination, have until September 25, 2018 at 11:59PM ET to purchase a membership.

The other expected by-election seats are Leeds—Grenville—Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes (Michael Barrett), Outremont (Jasmine Louras), Saint-Léonard—Saint-Michel (Ilario Maiolo), and York—Simcoe (TBD).
