Statement by Andrew Scheer on Quebec’s Fête nationale

Conservative Party of Canada | June 24, 2018

Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec – The Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, the Honourable Andrew Scheer, issued the following statement as part of the celebration of Quebec’s Fête nationale:

“I’m excited to be in Quebec once again to celebrate the Fête nationale. It is very important to me to carry on the tradition, and to celebrate this important day for the Nation Québécoise with you.

“Quebec has a long history you can all be proud of. Your ancestors made incredible sacrifices and, through their efforts, they have built a solid, bold and creative nation. Whether in culture, sports or trade, Quebecers excel and their accomplishments are respected around the world.

“Without Quebec, Canada would simply not be the same. The joie de vivre of Quebecers is unique and is passed on to all Canadians. I wish all Quebecers a happy Fête nationale, and a happy Saint-Jean-Baptiste to all Francophones outside Quebec!”
